Holosun HS507K Footprint & Compatibility Guide: Will It Fit Your Pistol?

When selecting a micro red dot sight, footprint compatibility is critical. The Holosun HS507K X2 features a modified version of the Shield RMSc footprint (often referred to as the “K Footprint”).

Understanding how this footprint interacts with popular optics-ready handguns ensures a hassle-free mounting experience.

Understanding the Holosun K Footprint

Standard Shield RMSc cuts feature four corner recoil lugs. Holosun modified this design on the Kseries by removing the rear lugs and shortening the front lugs slightly. This modification provides enhanced housing rigidity while maintaining a ultra-low profile on slim slides.

Pistol Compatibility Overview

Here is how the HS507K mounts on popular subcompact pistols:

  • Direct Fit (No Adapter Needed): Sig Sauer P365XL / P365X, SpringField Hellcat OSP (newer K-cut models), Taurus GX4, Ruger MAX-9.
  • Requires Adapter Plate or Lug Modification: Glock 43X MOS / Glock 48 MOS (requires a thin adapter plate or filing down rear recoil posts), Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Plus (requires plate).

Installation Tips for Rock-Solid Zero

  1. Clean the slide threads and screws thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol before installation.
  2. Apply a medium-strength threadlocker (such as Blue Loctite 242/243) to the mounting screws.
  3. Torque the screws to the manufacturer’s specification (typically 12-15 in-lbs) using a calibrated

torque tool.

  1. Allow the threadlocker to cure for 24 hours before heading to the range.

Choosing the HS507K means investing in a platform backed by widespread industry adoption and abundant mounting solutions.
